This morning I finished the book Soul Cravings by Erwin McManus. Wow! This is an amazing book. It gets us out of our "why don't lost people just get it when I explain it the way I heard it mode," and helps us to understand the human needs of the soul that were put there by God.
If you are like me and sometimes don't get the mindset of emerging generations, you must read this book. It will help you better understand people and find more effective ways to communicate with them and help them find the God their souls already crave.
Here are some quotes from today's reading"
"If God is real and you are created by him, your soul already knows that."
"My soul does not crave something from God: my soul craves God."
"God has placed cravings within your soul that will drive you insane or drive you to him."
"When you give up on yourself, you start throwing out things like dreams, optimism, hope, intimacy, love, trust, truth, meaning and faith."
"... the human spirit thrives on laughter. We really do need to take happiness more seriously."
"If we find ourselves endlessly thwarted in the search for our uniqueness, we may choose to end our quest and settle for a sterile life of empty existence."
